We have hosted many
fun sessions, competitions and coaching in the following sports: boxing, canoeing, cricket, cycling, football, rugby, tennis, and
mixed sessions in the MUGA (multi use game area) cage.
Please visit our Festival 2010 page to find out what was happening last year.
The Brentford Festival has been fortunate
to receive support from local sports groups and clubs who have given their time to organise sporting competitions, 'taster'
sessions and coaching in a variety of sports. We would like to thank, in particular:
Spartans Youth Football Club, who play their home matches on the pitches in Boston Manor Park over the winter season;
Boston Manor Tennis Club (formed under the umbrella of Friends
of Boston Manor and now operating a hugely popular club using the newly resurfaced courts in the park) for their Festival
Tennis Tournament; Brentford FC Community Sports Trust, who run sporting,
educational and local community events; Grasshoppers Rugby Club,
a local West London rugby club across the canal from Boston Manor Park; British Cycling for their free skills sessions; Hanwell School of Boxing
and
EDGE the kayak and canoe club working with Brentford Boating Arch (BAA) who run taster sessions at the Festival.
