The Brentford Festival Committee is a not for profit organisation. We rely heavily on sponsors to support us in producing this event and any profit made is re-invested to provide facilities within Boston Manor Park or the local community. If you would like to sponsor the Festival in 2011, please visit our Sponsors and Festival 2011 pages for further information.

The Brentford Festival emerged from the proposal of Friends of Boston Manor, encouraged by CIP (then parks managing agents for London Borough of Hounslow), to hold an event in Boston Manor Park in order to make local residents and prospective visitors aware of the beautiful park and facilities on offer. FOBM met up with the old Brentford Carnival Organising Committee, with a view to resurrecting the carnival under a different name to offer a fresh start. The original idea being that the venue would move from place to place within Brentford each year.

The first Festival took place in Boston Manor Park in September 2005 and was an immediate success, with visitors flocking into the park in the early Autumn sunshine. The organising committee was made up from a collection of members of Friends of Boston Manor, the Brentford Chamber of Commerce, members of the old Brentford Carnival Committee, local businesses, ward councillors, and residents in and around Brentford and Ealing. Needless to say, the event was such a huge success that the Committee voted to hold the Festival in Boston Manor Park each year, ideally placed as it is between the Boroughs of both Hounslow and Ealing.

Growing from strength to strength each year, the organising committee has increased in numbers and now includes members of Continental-Landscapes, John Laing and Fusion, who currently manage parks, buildings and leisure facilities in the London Borough of Hounslow, with Friends of Boston Manor still very much at the helm. We are also supported by Hounslow Council. The ethos of the event is to provide a forum for local and national charities, local institutions (such as the police and fire brigade), local community and support groups, as well as businesses and private stallholders to pass on information, advice, sell goods and services to our many visitors, and generally raise their profiles to the public at large. We also want to introduce our Green Flag Awarded Park to more people BUT MOST OF ALL, WE WANT ALL OUR VISITORS TO HAVE A LOVELY, FUN, COMMUNITY DAY OUT in this beautiful venue.
